Nikolaus Geschenkaktion (06.12.2023)

Heavy snow is falling during the dimly-lit night of December 5th to 6th as heavy feet are dragged over the crunching snow. A low grumbling voice can be heard from time to time as the hooded figure is opening the door to a certain student dormitory by the edge of the town. No one saw him, no one heard him as he broke into the house. The big brown boots are slowly trudging from door to door and up the staircases. The rustling red cloak is the only audible sound in the quiet building where the exhausted students are sleeping.
The heavy brown bag swung over his right shoulder, St. Nicholas is closely inspecting each shoe left outside the front door. Are they clean? Who do they belong to? Was that person naughty or nice? Crouched down, his scrutinizing look never misses a single detail. And then, after some contemplation, he reaches into his bag and pulls out something small. He throws it a quick glance, nods reassured and slips it inside the stranger’s shoe. With a heavy sigh, he rises to his full height and lingers for a second before he moves on to the next apartment.
